What and who determines a piece of clothing’s UPF rating?Updated 10 months ago

The weave, fabric composition and weight are the most important factors in determining the sun protective effectiveness of fabrics. All of our fabrics are tested and certified UPF50+ by the Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency (ARPANSA).

ARPANSA is the Australian Government's primary authority on radiation protection and nuclear safety. We send samples of every fabric we stock, in every colour to be independently tested. Currently, the highest available UPF rating in the world is UPF50+.
